North Ridgeville ushers in a host of restaurants

NORTH RIDGEVILLE - Dining options in the city are about to diversify with four new restaurants set to open in the near future. Never mind that one is a repeat. The city's second McDonald's has been under construction at the northeast corner of Avon Belden and Center Ridge roads for about the last two weeks.

Ongoing Volunteer Opportunities: Meals That Heal - Groups of up to 6 are needed to prepare and/or serve meals to the Domestic Violence and Child Advocacy Center residents (25 women and 25 children) on the westside. Available 7 days a week - Monday - Friday for dinner and Saturday or Sunday for breakfast, lunch or dinner.

SEPTEMBER 3-5 - 2011 Cleveland National Air Show - Burke Lakefront Airport, 1501 N. Marginal Road, Cleveland, OH 44114. For many families, the sight of high-speed aircraft jetting in tight formation against a bright blue sky is as exciting as fireworks on the 4th of July. Cleveland will host the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds as headliners of the 2011 Cleveland National Air Show presented by Discount Drug Mart on Labor Day Weekend at Burke Lakefront Airport. Other attractions will include U.S. Army Golden Knights Precision Parachute Team, U.S. Air Force A-10 Thunderbolt II Tactical Demonstration, U.S. Air Force Heritage Flight of the F-4 Phantom II, Jacquie "B" Air Shows and much more.

THROUGH SEPTEMBER 6 - Viktor Schreckengost Exhibit - Shaker Historical Society, 16740 South Park Blvd. Shaker Heights, OH 44120. His legacy and his impact in the fields of art, engineering and industrial design.

THROUGH SEPTEMBER 5 - Festival of St. Rocco -St. Rocco Church, 3205 Fulton Road, Cleveland, OH 44109. Ethnic entertainment, food and crafts, plus children activities and rides. A procession through the neighborhood streets is at 1 p.m. Sunday.
